The bryological team at the Department of Botany is a working group within the departmental group "Systematics of higher plants".

Our focus is on taxonomy and phylogeny of haplolepidous moss groups, particularly the family of Pottiaceae and biology of rare mosses, particularly the rich fen and epixylic species.

Bryological contents is taught both in general lectures on plant biology (Plant Biology, Botany of Higher Plants), as well as in the specialized lectures 'Bryophyte Biology' and the field courses 'Field Course of Bryology - spring/autumn' and 'Course of the Alpine botany and ecology'.

Meet the staff and students of our group or browse through our publications to see the results of our work.
