Contribution to knowledge of the genus Usnea (Parmeliaceae) in Slovakia V: U. fulvoreagens, U. lapponica
Abstract: Occurrences of two species of the genus Usnea, U. fulvoreagens and U. lapponica, are documented at 5 localities in central Slovakia (Vysoké Tatry Mts, Nízke Tatry Mts, Spiško-gemerský kras Karst, Veporské vrchy Mts). Chemical and morphological properties of particular specimens are discussed.

The distribution of Hamatocaulis vernicosus (Mitt.) Hedenäs (Calliergonaceae) in the Czech Republic
Abstract: The historical and recent distribution of Hamatocaulis vernicosus, a species of Annex II of the Habitats Directive, was studied on the basis of herbarium specimens, a review of published literature and the authors’ own survey of potentially suitable biotopes. The species has been recorded recently at 54 localities, while its occurrence was not verified at 75 historical localities supported by specimens, and at 14 unsupported localities. Population size ranges from a few stems to tens of square metres; most of the populations are considered to be adversely affected by various negative factors including unstable water regime, eutrophication, lack of appropriate management, expansion of woodland and other successional changes.

Lichens recorded during the autumnal bryo-lichenological meeting in the Elbe Sandstone region (northern Bohemia) in 2010
Abstract: List of 118 lichens and 12 lichenicolous or lichen-allied fungi recorded during the autumnal bryo-lichenological meeting in the České Švýcarsko National Park and the Lužické hory Mts (northern Bohemia) in 2010 is presented. One locality was revisited by one of the authors (ZP) in 2012. Our attention was focused mainly on basalt screes and rocks (Javor Mt., Růžovský vrch Mt.). We visited also deep sandstone valleys (Křinice and Kamenice river valleys) and a burnt pine forest near Jetřichovice village. Cladonia macrophylla, Enterographa zonata, Lecanora cinerescens, Lecidea commaculans, Micarea leprosula, Miriquidica nigroleprosa, Protothelenella sphinctrinoides, Stereocaulon dactylophyllum, and S. pileatum represent the most remarkable records from basalt screes and rocks. Several regionally rare epiphytic lichens were observed in the Kamenice river valley (e.g. Agonimia repleta, Arthonia vinosa, Graphis scripta, Jamesiella anastomosans, Opegrapha vermicellifera, Porina leptalea and Thelotrema lepadinum). Lecanora cinerescens is published here as new for the Czech Republic. Nectriopsis rubefaciens is reported from the second locality in the country.

Occurrence of Hyperphyscia adglutinata (lichens) in Slovakia
Abstract: The occurrence of the epiphytic lichen Hyperphyscia adglutinata in Slovakia is summarized. There are several reports from the first half of the 20th century, even of fertile thalli. However, recent occurrence is limited. The species has its distributional optimum in Mediterranean Europe, where is particularly abundant in dry and eutrophicated habitats. In Slovakia, it has been reported accompanied by several rare species. These are Arthrosporum populorum, a species known only from historical collections; Strigula affinis, a species listed as extinct in Slovakia; Candelariella subdeflexa, which is reported as new to Slovakia, maybe in part overlooked due to often sterile habit. As a consequence of habitat eutrophication, H. adglutinata is supposed to spread in the future, together with other nitrophilous lichens.
