Notes on the taxonomy of Dicranum sendtneri Limpr.
Abstract: A brief historical survey of the taxonomic treatment of the taxon Dicranum sendtneri, and its distinguishing characteristics in comparison with related species, D. fuscescens and D. elongatum, are reviewed. As a conclusion, reasons for its evaluation at the subspecific level as D. elongatum subsp. sendtneri are given.

Lichens collected during a cryptogamological excursion of the Department of Botany, Charles University, in the Slovenský raj National Park (Slovakia)
Abstract: In June 8th-12th 1998, an annual student cryptogamological excursion – organised by the Department of Botany, Charles University, Prague – took place in the area of the Slovenský raj National park (Eastern Slovakia). Results of an informative lichenological exploration in its northern part are summarized. Altogether 159 taxa were identified, of which four species (Anema notarisii, Clauzadea metzleri, Mycobilimbia carneoalbida and Vezdaea stipitata) are reported from Slovakia for the first time.

Lichens of the Padrť ponds surroundings in the Brdy Mts (Central Bohemia)
Abstract: The area of the Padrť ponds surroundings in the south part of the Brdy Mts have been studied and 63 lichen species have been found. Flora of epiphytic lichens is well preserved. A relatively high number of epiphytes of medium or high sensitivity to air pollution have been listed. Populations of sensitive lichens seem to be currently rather stable. The studied area belongs to the most important localities in the Brdy Mts.

Bryophytes and lichens protected by law in the Slovak Republic
Abstract: An information on 5 liverworts, 15 mosses and 20 lichens newly protected by law in the Slovak Republic is given. The topic is demonstrated by lichen Cetraria islandica extremely threatened due to overcollecting for economical purposes.
